Buddy’s Story ~ As Told By The Rescue

Say Hello to our new friend, Buddy! Buddy is a sweet 12-year-old Boston Terrier whose owner decided she could no longer keep him when she moved to a smaller house. She kept the 2 other dogs that Buddy called his family, but poor Buddy, being the senior dog in the house, got the boot (so much for valuing the elder members of your family, huh?). We don’t know why she would ever abandon Buddy – he is one of the sweetest dogs we’ve ever met!

His owner even said that Buddy is a great dog – she said he’s great with other dogs, cats, and people of all ages. He’s house trained and leash trained; he’s not a barker, or a digger and he responds well to commands (sit, stay, down).

Buddy looks and has the energy of a much younger dog, and he still has lots of love to give to a family who will give him a forever home. Buddy came to us with two small growths on each side of his body and a large fatty growth on his back leg. Buddy badly needed a dental cleaning so we had our vet remove the growths at the same time as his dental cleaning.

The lab work came back from the growths and they were just fatty deposits called lipomas so, Buddy has a brilliant new smile (just look at that smile!), he is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, micro chipped and has been heartworm and fecal tested (both negative). If you are interested in our Buddy, the sweet boy who’s just looking for a new best ‘forever’ friend, the first step is to complete and submit an adoption application and go through our approval process. My Silly Little Valentine

Two months ago, when my precious companion Wilson passed away I was absolutely heartbroken. I still am. But in January, after reading Buddy’s story, I thought that we just might be a match. It’s been 4 weeks that he’s been living with me, and this well-mannered older gentleman has absolutely found his “forever home.”

{Happy Valentine’s Day}

  1. I am so happy that you found this precious elder gentleman! Your beloved Wilson would be so glad that you found Buddy, I’m sure of that.

    Wishing you many happy years with your little Valentine,
    Merisi

  2. So happy for you! My parents never let us have pets growing up, but ironically, they now have 4 rescued cats! If I wasn’t so allergic I’d be tempted to get a dog…Buddy sounds like a real sweetie!

  3. He is just perfectly mannered…a true gentleman deserving of all your love and affection. You picked the best Valentine ever.

  4. I am almost crying . . . there are happy stories out there, just believe and look! Hello, Buddy – hoping you get on a lot od ‘other’ photos coming up 😀 !

  5. Sitting here bawling, Lori Lynn. Happy tears for you and Buddy, and Wilson will surely be basking in the peaceful glow of knowing his mum has another little love to nurture and help lick her pain away. What a dear little man he is. Big hugs, Shell x0x

  6. I am going to send this link to my friend who has 2 Boston’s and plenty of room for a third (at least I think so- what do I know??). But more importantly it’s one more person’s network to help search for a home. Thanks for posting this… GREG
