Welcome Friends! Come on In!
Chez Lori Lynn is a charming Cape Cod style home built in 1951. The style is rare in Southern California (I’ve located less than a dozen in San Pedro) as it is an East Coast design – a style adapted to the stormy New England weather. Common features include a steep sloping roof, chimney with fireplace, dormers, multi-pane double hung windows, shutters, wood construction covered in wide clapboard, symmetrical appearance with door in center, center-hall floor plan, and hardwood floors. Part III of the Home Tour illustrates all these features.
It was my honor and pleasure to have my home join six other distinctive San Pedro homes on the WHITE POINT HOME TOUR & RECEPTION hosted by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy. All the proceeds from the event support site improvements and habitat restoration at the White Point Preserve. The White Point Nature Preserve features 102 acres of restored coastal sage scrub habitat, hiking and handicap accessible trails overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island.
My decorating style is eclectic. I like Country French, and English Cottage, Shabby Chic, comfortable, charm, and whimsical. I like color. A lot of color. I collect dinnerware and cookbooks. I love to cook, and as you know, share unique dishes and ideas for stylish entertaining here on Taste With The Eyes.
Home Tour Parts I and II feature views from the upstairs deck overlooking the Port of Los Angeles and four tables set for entertaining:

It’s definitely me, Joan 🙂

Your home is such a reflection of you LL, elegant, impeccable taste and fun! Beautiful home!
Thanks Marie! I hope you had a terrific Thanksgiving. Don, Kristy and the kids just left to go back to Chicago. We had a wonderful week.

What a beautifully decorated home. Wish I were on that house tour, but thanks for the virtual tour.
Hi Linda – thank you. And I hope your Thanksgiving was super! I have to stop by your site and see your fabulous creations.

How does one say ‘thank you’ for a rare privilege? You surely have given us one, allowing your readers into your sanctum sanctorum. Thank you all the same . . . More than anything, it explains you yesterday, today and tomorrow . . . in a world where beauty oft lacks, thanks for supplying us with a quiet corner . . .
Hi Eha – thank you for your kind words…

Beautiful home!!! Hardwood floors add so much warmth to a home. I love them! They also allow for so many different decors. We have hardwood and our decor is quite different from yours, but both work. A friend would be very envious of your heartshaped mirrors. She collects both mirrors and hearts of all kinds, and yours would fit her collection quite nicely. 🙂
Hi MJ – I wasn’t looking for mirrors but when I saw those I had to have them. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, especially cooking in your new kitchen!
LL
What an absolutely lovely home you have! Thanks you so much for sharing it with us all. IT reflects your cooking and photos, or vice-versa, but either way there’s a nice sense of continuity between the two, your home and your food. We wish you and yours a delightful and warm Thanksgiving!
Hi C&A – I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving too. I’m so glad you see my style reflected in my dishes! Makes me smile 🙂

A very pretty home, complete with white picket fence. And a real cozy, homey feel. *And* the kitchen looks nice and ‘cookable’—Cape Cods do tend to have rather cramped ones.
Thanks Frank, and my problem was always not enough counter space, with the bar extension, I now have 9 extra feet for prepping. YAY!

Your home is beautiful. Growing up, I always wanted to have rooms with distinctive themes. I never followed through on that. Your home is inspiration in how it can be done! I love the curtains in your living room!
Thank you PG. The themes just sort of evolved when decorating with styles, colors, and designs that I liked. It’s a mish-mash, but seems to work 🙂

You’re home is as charming as you! GREG
Well, aren’t you sweet Greg!
Merci mon ami…

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home, LL! After following your blog for over year, I became to curious of your life besides your cooking. It was such a treat for us to see your home, and I can live there comfortably… 🙂 I enjoyed this post very much!
